Problem Note 36279: Column mappings in SAS® Data Integration Studio processes disappear after you run the Update Table Metadata tool

In a SAS Data Integration Studio process, if you change the case of a column name in a source table and then run the Update Table Metadata tool to refresh the table's metadata, the column mapping disappears.
The problem occurs because the Update Table Metadata tool deletes the definition for the column that the case of its name changed. The Update Table Metadata tool then adds the column with the new attributes back into the source table. When the column is deleted, the corresponding mapping is also deleted.
A workaround is not available for this problem. The column mapping must be rebuilt.
Note: Beginning with the second maintenance release for SAS® 9.2 (TS2M2), this problem does not occur for tables that exist in a Base SAS® library. However, the problem still occurs for RDBMS tables.
